Mirror has learnt that TV show Comedy Nights Bachao, which turned one on September 5, is currently undergoing an overhaul. Besides a grander scale and a new line-up of comedians, plans are also afoot to water down the content of the show, which is fashioned after the notorious 'Roasts'. Buzz is, celebrity guests like Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan and Amy Jackson, among others, had reportedly expressed reservations about the format, making it tough for the makers to convince other stars to appear on the show.

Additionally, while Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh will continue as hosts, the channel has roped in Sumeet Vyas, star of the hit web series, Permanent Roommates, to inject some fresh humour in the show. The actor confirmed the news but refused to divulge details. “I have played characters with a humorous touch. But this is the first time I am trying my hands at mainstream stand-up comedy,“ he informed Mirror.
